The Timaru Group Riding for the Disabled is a voluntary, not for profit organisation which provides opportunities for anyone with a disability to enjoy therapeutic horse riding and horse related activities. We currently provide programmes to around 33 children and adults with disabilities in the South Canterbury region. We offer riding sessions during school term, three days per week. Sessions are staffed by volunteers, all with a passion for enabling riders to develop a level of independence and achieve personal goals. Timaru RDA does not receive any significant government funding and relies on its own fundraising activities, donations and sponsorship to provide services within the community. Provide opportunities for anyone with a disability to enjoy therapeutic horse riding and horse related activities.
