Professional Meme-er Wanted!

We’re looking for volunteers in Timaru to join Youthline’s social media team. You’ll help create fun, helpful posts for TikTok and Instagram, think mental health tips, coping strategies, mental health apps, life hacks, study tips, local community events and yes… memes :D

What you’ll do:

  • Meet once a month with the team (we provide snacks if that's a motivator for you... it is for us).
  • Follow Youthline’s branding and messaging guidelines so our content stays consistent.
  • As a team, plan and schedule bi-weekly posts.
  • Bring your meme game to the table; occasional memes are a must to get Gen Z and Gen Alpha's attention.

Our goal is to grow our social media presence so more young people across the region know about Youthline and know what services we have available that are ready to help.

Requirements:
  • Ability to tell when a meme is already dead.
  • Comfortable spending an unreasonable amount of time on TikTok "for research"
  • Able to say "this would slap as a reel" with confidence
  • Willing to attend important in-person snack-fuelled strategy meetings. You could also attend online, but you'll miss out on the snacks so we don't recommend it..
Time commitment:

1–2 hours per month on a specific day/time that works for the whole team

Getting started:
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below. We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
