This is an exciting opportunity to help children overcome a barrier to school attendance so that they can become successful learners.
We are looking for drivers to drive two vans, picking up primary and middle school students and driving them to school.
This could be a 5-days-per-week role, or two drivers could share the role.
Another driver will be on stand-by for times when rostered drivers are unable to attend.
Kāhui Ako was formed in 2015 when the principals of the 12 schools in our community came together with a view to significantly raise achievement for students across our community.
Kāhui Ako is determined to make a difference to all students, but in particular those who often have barriers to success. One recognised barrier is getting to school, leading to this driving initiative. Two vans pick up approximately 16 children and drop them off at about 5 different schools. The aim is to engage these learners and ignite their passion for learning. The children find their own way home after school.
A clean drivers licence and police vetting.
Able to assist young children with seatbelts and opening/closing the van doors.
8:00am to 9:00am on school days.
