MID CANTERBURY COMMUNITY VEHICLE TRUST – TRUSTEE VACANCIES

The Mid Canterbury Community Vehicle Trust oversees the operation of the Mid Canterbury Connector community transport service. The service uses volunteer drivers to transport people who don’t drive/no longer drive into Ashburton Township for medical/hospital/dental/WINZ appointments; shopping; seeing friends and family, etc.
The Trust’s vision is to reduce social isolation, especially in older Ashburton District residents living in the more rural parts of the District, and to help keep people connected to services and to their families and communities.
The service has a part-time paid Co-ordinator who receives bookings and allocates volunteer drivers on a roster basis and manages the finances. The service is also supported by the Safe Communities Co-ordinator at Safer Mid Canterbury who is the Trust Secretary.
Trustees' key tasks are:

  1. To contribute to the vision and purpose of the Trust
  2. To help direct the long-term planning of the service
  3. To review and discuss current activities
  4. To review and approve policies and procedures
  5. To review reports and material ahead of trust meetings
