Tandem Bike Pilot

Blind Low Vision New Zealand

Our Timaru Blind Low Vision member is looking for a tandem bike pilot. We are looking for an active volunteer who will be able to pilot at tandem bike to support our member in their riding. As the pilot rider, your role is to be ‘the eyes’ of the tandem – at the front steering, braking and keeping your low vision rider informed of what’s going on around you! This member is active and loves a challenge. A typical ride would be 2 hours. You will be familiar with bikes already, be able to use pedal cleats and have basic bike maintenance skills. A current pilot will be able to guide you on your new journey as a tandem pilot volunteer for Blind Low Vision. This is a fantastic and easy way to support your local community and learn something new and keep fit!
