Assistants for Riding for the Disabled riding programme

Volunteers assist clients to gain confidence and undertake activities as they walk alongside them while they are on the horses to provide support and safety.

The riding days are Tuesday and Thursday during school terms. The hours are 8.30am till 12.30pm

Volunteers should be physically fit and able (walking pace), willing to learn and accept directions and prepared to work as a team.

Requirements:

Volunteers need to be double vaccinated and be Police checked.

Volunteers will need to undertake training

A long term commitment is required for this role

As this role involves lots of walking and other activities volunteers need to be physically fit

Volunteers need to be comfortable around children, those with disabilities and also with horses

Volunteers ideally need to be 18 years or older

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

One day a week during school terms from 8.30am-12.30pm
