Community transport service drivers

As Ashburton District has no public transport system, the Mid Canterbury Connector community transport service uses the Community House Mid Canterbury Community Van to bring people from around the District who don't have access to a vehicle, into Ashburton Township for medical appointments, etc. At present there are 2 routes, each Tuesday starting in Mt Somers then to Methven, Staveley, Winchmore, Ashburton Township and Wakanui then back home. The other route (each Wednesday) is Rakaia to Chertsey, Fairton/Hakatere Marae, the Township and Hinds. In future it is planned to operate an on demand service Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm, so we are looking for volunteer drivers who can drive during these days/times.

Must have good driving skills and be medically fit to drive. Cash handling (taking fares). Friendly, non-judgemental
