Our Caring Caller programme is a telephone friendship service. We match volunteers with clients around the country who would benefit from regular connection.
This volunteer Team Leader position is integral in ensuring our programme provides both our volunteers and clients with a seamless experience, by supporting our incredible Caring Caller volunteers. We are looking for a new Team Leader to support our Ashburton team.
The role involves:
Attraction, recruitment, and training of new volunteers
Providing support and mentoring advice to your team of volunteers
Ensuring all clients are receiving compatible matches that are meeting their needs
Providing reporting to relevant St John staff
Maintaining strong relationships with local Area Committee and attend meetings as required/invited
Organising recognition events, meetings, and training for the team
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Excellent communication skills, an empathetic personality, and a genuine interest in the well-being of others
Previous team management experience
Administration experience
Competent computer skills
Be over 18 years of age
Clean criminal record
Successful applicants will receive full training and membership of Hato Hone St John (which gives free ambulance service for immediate family).
A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.
This role is flexible and can work around your availability, ideally you will be able to commit at least 2-3 hours per week. You have the option of joining as a Caring Caller and being matched with suitable client/s however, this is not mandatory.
