Working as part of an enthusiastic, dedicated and supportive committee that creates and runs social activities for members of Blind Low Vision NZ. The committee consists of members of Blind Low Vision NZ as well as sighted Volunteers.
• This role involves the recording and distribution of meeting notes/minutes and general administration assistance for the monthly social group.
• Support the continuation of social activities using your telephone skills for a very appreciative membership of vision impaired, mostly elderly members.
• It is ideal if the applicant has their own laptop and is comfortable with Microsoft Word/other format for recording minutes.
• The Secretary must be handy using emails, including sending attachments and have telephone skills.
• Willingness to communicate and work with a team
A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.
• One meeting per month, one and a half hours - currently afternoon of first Thursday in the month but could be changed if necessary.
• Optional – involvement in the social activities offered.
