Radio Operators in Civil Defence Emergency Operations Centre

Volunteers are needed to operate radios during Civil Defence Emergencies in Mid Canterbury. The volunteers will be based at the Emergency Operations Centre.

Requirements:

The ability to remain calm and work as part of a team in a pressured and stressful situation. Clear voice and good communication skills. The ablity to use the radio system would be an advantage but full training will be provided by Civil Defence.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

You will need to be committed to attend the training. The time involved in the emergency is fluid depending on the emergency and the length of time it goes on.
