Interview families for case studies/success stories and write stories and materials to help highlight the challenges and successes achieved by single parent families.
Liaise with the Manager for families to interview.
Obtain media consent from every family interviewed.
Maintain full confidentiality on all matters relating to clients and the organisation
Will include travelling within Ashburton
Other reasonable tasks requested by Volunteer Coordinator/Manager
Keep accurate travel statistics and present them promptly to the Volunteer Coordinator at the end of each month.
Debrief with Volunteer Coordinator or Manager after each visit via phone/face to face.
Four hours each month for a minimum of six months.
Report to Programme Support and Volunteer Coordinator before/after each visit
Attend training as required by Birthright Canterbury Trust
Supervision as required
Two referees are required
Able to work with/be part of a team; Committed; Reliable; Sense of humour; Comfortable working with client face to face; non-judgmental; Understanding; appropriate level of health and fitness, Respect for client, Excellent communication skills particularly listening and writing; Ability to be efficient and maintain client confidentiality; Awareness o personal boundaries; skills in photography (desirable) and a drivers licence
