Managing Difficult Situations Workshop - Timaru

Volunteering is rewarding, but it can also involve challenging moments. This practical, interactive workshop, presented by Alice Sollis, Volunteer Manager of Age Concern South Canterbury, is designed to support those who lead and work with volunteers to confidently manage difficult situations and strengthen positive team relationships.

Participants will gain practical tools to:

  • Recognise early signs of tension and de-escalate difficult situations
  • Communicate clearly, calmly, and effectively under pressure
  • Build safer, more respectful, and positive interactions within volunteer teams and the wider community

This workshop is ideal for non-profit board and committee members, as well as managers and coordinators (paid or unpaid) who support volunteers.

Attendees will also be introduced to practical self-help resources to support ongoing learning and organisational wellbeing.
