Blind Low Vision Week is a campaign to raise awareness about and funds for services that we provide Kiwis who are blind, deafblind or have low vision to allow them to live the life they choose.
We will provide materials (e.g. bibs, buckets, stickers and flyers), contact details of volunteers, council and site (e.g. supermarket) permits, as well as a coordinator's handbook.
Our Recreation and Volunteer Coordinator in the Christchurch Office will onboard the volunteer from processing application documents as well as facilitating police checks.
Volunteer needs to be available on one/both collection days and is great at engaging volunteers on the phone and comfortable handling money. It is preferred that volunteer has access to, or have own vehicle as work involves travel between collection sites.
Approximately 35 hours spread across weeks leading to the collection days and week after collection.
