Birthright works alongside single parents and their children. Your role will be to help us take photographs to go with stories to help lessen the stigma experienced by single parents and their children.

TASKS

Take photos of families for case studies/success stories.
Liaise with the Volunteer Coordinator for families to interview.
Obtain media consent from every family photographed.
Maintain full confidentiality on all matters relating to clients and the organisation
Might include travelling around Ashburton or neighbouring district.
Keep accurate travel statistics and present them promptly to the Volunteer Coordinator at the end of each month.
Debrief with Volunteer Coordinator or Manager (if Volunteer Coordinator is not available) after each visit via phone/face to face.

TIME COMMITMENT

Four hours each month for a minimum of six months.
Report to Programme Support and Volunteer Coordinator before/after each visit
Attend training as required by Birthright Canterbury Trust
Supervision as required

REQUIREMENTS

Police Vetting
Two referees
Driving Licence
Own camera
Previous experience on photography preferred

RESOURCES PROVIDED

Human: Programme Support and Volunteer Coordinator; The Manager, Social workers
Material: Travel reimbursement
Birthright Resources as required including a print out of Google maps.

Volunteers need to be double vaccinated for this role.

A Police background check is required for this role.
