Ashburton District community transport service - volunteer drivers

As Ashburton District has no public transport system, the Mid Canterbury Connector community transport service operates a vehicle to bring people from around the District who don't have access to transport, or who no longer drive, into Ashburton Township for medical appointments, etc. This is an on-demand service, operating Monday to Friday between 9am and 4.30pm, so we are looking for volunteer drivers who can drive during these days/times. People using the service are asked to give us two days' notice, so we can organise a volunteer driver. We will work in with what you can do. Note that the vehicle needs to be picked up and returned from the Community House, 44 Cass Street, Ashburton. Carparking for your vehicle while you are out driving is available.
