Drivers needed for Activity Groups

Dementia Canterbury
Working Hours

Dementia Canterbury runs monthly activity groups in Ashburton and needs drivers who can pick our clients up and drop them off again after the group. For many of our clients their diagnosis means that they are no longer able to drive, creating a loss of independence and possible social isolation. These groups help maintain those social connections and support the person with dementia and their families. This role may include travel to outlying areas such as Methven or Rakaia.

Clean, full drivers license. You will need to undertake a driving assessment and be comfortable interacting with people with dementia.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Time involved depends where the client lives. Those in the township could be 45mins covering both pick up and drop off and then collect and drop off. If the client lives rurally this will require more time
